Welcome to our Pilgrims ICT Level 1 blog. I'm going to ask for a volunteer to write up a blog post each day. This way we will have a record of what we have looked at. You will all be able to revisit the blog to review the content, as well.
Let me start then....
Today I met the group. We are a relatively small group with 12 teachers from Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Cyprus and Turkey. We spend a little while in the morning learning each other's names and gettign connected to the Internet. After that we were ready to learn about digital literacies. For those of you who would like to learn a bit more, I can suggest you look at this slideshare presentation.
To keep this post down to a minimum, I'll just say that we reviewed what digital literacy involves, set up Gmail accounts, signed up for Slideshare and Diigo and learned how to bookmark and tag sites.
Finally we watched a 'literal version' of a music video, James Blunt's 'You're Beautiful' for a bit of comic relief at the end of a lot of screen time. Gosia and Magda had a funny video to share about Henry the Eighth's 6 wives set to the tune of Abba's 'Money, money, money'. Here is 'Henry, Henry, Henry'. Thanks!
And I can offer you this one then since we are in Canterbury :)
Tomorrow we will start working on our projects ..... and practise what we have strated to learn today.
Enjoy your afternoon and evening sessions,
see you in the morning everyone!
Kristina
